Another "story" about cholesterol

Hi again!
How many people out there are aware that the recent fad for buying margarine which lowers your cholesterol is advertising hype?  If you read the margarine containers carefully, the word "absorption" always appears in very small type after the words "lowers cholesterol".  What this means is that the margarine does not lower your cholesterol at all - it just lowers your ability to ingest any new cholesterol in your diet.  I guess that is great if you intend eating lots of fatty foods with your margarine, however if you are seriously worried about cholesterol, then doesn't the advertising hype say that you need to avoid the wrong kinds of fats?
I think the real answer is to eat foods that are as natural and un-processed as possible.  That's what I'm doing right now, and I'll be having some blood tests early next year to see if my approach is working.  The doctor wanted to put me on drugs to lower my cholesterol, but given the side-effects of these drugs, I prefer to try the natural approach!

Hmmm...... I'm starting to think it's a big hoax

I know that there are lots of experts and it can get pretty confusing, but I am becoming more convinced that the drug companies are what is really driving the cholesterol "epidemic".  I think that the human body is far too complex a being to isolate one small part and say: "cholesterol is the problem".  Drugs that are produced to lower cholesterol do so artificially, and most drugs are known to have a multitude of side-effects. 
The scientists and researchers in the drug companies think they have produced a solution, but have they really?  Or are they making it worse?
To illustrate, I read a small story a couple of weeks ago regarding a scientific experiement conducted several years ago.  The scientist found out the chemical composition/formula for seawater, and replicated it exactly.  They then filled one tank with their relicated seawater, and one with real seawater, and filled both with seaweeds and fish.  Within 24 hours, all of the fish in the replicated seawater had died.  (I will see if I can find the source, if anyone needs it - I read about it in Cyndi O'Meara's "Changing Habits Changing Lives" book.)

Cholesterol: Is it really dangerous?

I've been reading lately that cholesterol is not the big problem that the health industry, food and drug companies, and the media are making it out to be.
